'The Oceans Rebirth’, explores the intriguing aesthetics and functions of the oyster. Being captured by the fact that “one adult oyster can filter up to 227 litres of water a day from chemical pollution” I came to realise that these secret heroes of the ocean are severely under-appreciated and also endangered due to human impact and over fishing. I want to bring them into the light and present the oyster that is generally considered, ugly, grotesque and disgusting as the true beauty and interesting animal that they are.
